Jefferson County Electric Vehicle Association
The Jefferson County Electric Vehicle Association (JeffCoEVA) is a collaboration by a number of plug-in electric vehicle (EV) owners to promote the benefits of EVs to Jefferson County residents. The group’s founders include Ben Bauermeister, Dave Scott, Perry Spring, and Jeff Randall.
The JeffCoEVA will promote both plug-in electric (such as the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Bolt, and Tesla) and electric-hybrid/extend range vehicles (such as the Chevy Volt and BMW i3) through events where individuals can meet local owners of these vehicles and go for a ride.
The purpose of our Association is to provide information in a non-commercial environment so that people who are interested in electric vehicles can confidently learn on their own the kind of EV that is right for them. These cars are much cheaper to operate than gas or diesel vehicles and are really fun to drive. And the up-front cost of getting into a new leased vehicle or a used vehicle is comparable to a conventional gas vehicle.
The group will share a booth with Local2020 at this year’s home show and will have a number of vehicles in the parking lot for those interested in checking them out or going for a ride.
